I Don’t Friend You by the little dröm press

logo

A book celebrating friendships and childhood playtime memories in Singapore (circa 80s – 90s).

Using petite hands, foot and imagination at large; games and friendships were formed. “Chi ku pak” and “nehnee nehnee boo boo, you cannot catch me” are amongst some childish lingoes and silly game tunes that are still softly echoing in our heads occasionally. Up till today, we are left amused and confounded by these very ingenious game creators. A recollection of old school playtime memories of kids back in the good old years of 80s/90s.

All beings are heirs to their own karma. Everything arises and passes away according to their own time. We are taught to chase after our time, to possess it, control it so that we can be happy. And in so doing, we realize there are so many things we need just to be satisfied, and when the satisfaction turns into dissatisfaction as it always does, we are at it again, looking for the next gratification. Our individual life is an expression of what is unique to each of us, a mystery which we should be comfortable with in the midst of all that happens to us. We choose what we bring into our lives and we have only one chance at it. Pull the plug?

Lulu from The Noose on weather report for Season 4 Episode 9 (by jonrenz)

IT WAS SUPER HILARIOUS WHEN I WATCHED THIS! LOL. Michelle is so bloody good at acting like a china woman! I like watching her on The Noose but I think she appears quite arrogant in real life?

Oh well, I think Singaporeans love The Noose! :D

Cute Strawberry Nail Art (by cutepolish)

Super duper cute! I’m gonna ask bf to help me with this. He likes doing my nails. He can file seriously. Lol. Its kinda a good thing as we have something we can do together and bond. (;

Anyways, talking about nails… I just did express mani & pedi @ valley point. (Thank God I didn’t do classic cos’ they only had time to do express for me!) I’m sure that’s the only 1 nail salon there targeted at ang mohs. At first I thought the Singaporean boss was very friendly and nice and I felt like doing and so my bf pampered me. Hehe. Well… I’m just never gonna step in there again. Why?

My tea was filled with debris of my nails from all the filing? It was so near my nails when a china woman was filing!

The area for the nail services was so cramped and looking at the angmoh who sat beside me doing classic it felt like it wasnt a good experience.

I was disappointment and felt wtf @ the counter when I saw Pirates of the Carribean Limited Edition Collection. It was not on the palette to pick and I asked why. The boss ‘nicely’ said customers have to buy it and bring along as and when they would like to apply even at other salons. Wtf? Even small nail salons nearby my house use limited edition polishes. And she tried to push sale by asking Oscar to buy when i was fascinated by the colors.

Total damage was $33 but it was worth it in a way cos the polish havent really chipped off for like 5days. If not I would really feel pissed. Geez.

Actually I thought of just buying 2 bottles of OPI nail polish nearby but hesitated cos I needed to do manicure & pedicure badly. But comparing a session of manicure & pedicure to 2bottles of nail polish I would like to choose the latter. Haha. Oh well…
